Does anyone know of a Christopher L. Davis or Kit Davis from around Pink Hill? 
Are they the same Person? I believe the Christopher was in Croom's company as a Lt. in the civil 
war. I am trying to find out if the Agnes Davis that is listed in the censuses is the same Agnes 
Davis my line is from and married into the Lee family of Lenoir and Jones counties. Agnes Davis 
Lee per death cert died in the cypress creek (comfort)area of jones county and in 1943 born 
1854, parents listed as Kit Davis and Sue Rouse. Agnes' husband was Davis Lee. Both are 
supposedly buried in Maplewood cemetery, though I do not know if there are markers.

my g-g-g-grandparents lived and raised their children in beaver creek of jones county. and their 
seems to be no information on them. 
they were john g. and amanda (emanda) jones.
their children were sallie ann (jones) gilbert/ john gilbert
jessie w jones
everett jones
perry jones 
nancy jones
furney mckinley jones--he was my g-g-grandfather.
any information on these joneses will be greatful.

Recently I was told that the Shine Historical sign is not located outside of the old Shine Inn stating 
that George Washington slept here. Can you tell me what happened to it? Will it be restored or 
replaced?
My interest is that I am related to the Shine family.
