In the name of God Amen.  I  Joseph Williams Senr. of the county of Hyde and state of North Carolina being of sound mind memory blessed be God do this 17th day of June in the year of our Lord 1844 make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say first I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Christany Williams all my household and kitchen furniture all my stock of every kind except one cow and her increase that during her natural life then at her death I give and bequeath to my son Lorenzo D. Williams one feather bed one mare and all my working tools of every kind the mare to be his at my decease.  Then my son David G. Williams one bed and furniture also to my son Samuel L. Williams one bed and furniture also to my daughter Sally M. Williams one bed and furniture also my son Joseph Williams Junior one dollar also my son Shadrack Williams Junior one dollar also my son Jesse Williams one dollar also my son Benjamin Williams one dollar also my son William Williams one dollar also my grand son Joshua Mason one dollar also Baillet? Culliver? one dollar that cow and her increase excepted is already given to Lorenzo D. Williams after the death of my wife.  I give to my three youngest children one heifer apeace the remaining part to my stock if any to Lorenzo D. Williams and I hereby make and ordain my son Lorenzo D. Williams Executor of this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I the said Joseph Williams Senr. have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and date above written.  Signed sealed in presents of us witnesses.
