I Samuel T. Tunnell of the County of Hyde and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say,

First: That my Executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the money's that my first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Mother Esther Tunnel during her natural life a negro girl by the name of Elizabeth after the death of my said mother I give and bequeath the said negro girl Elizabeth to my youngest brother Alexander B. Tunnel to his his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Brother Joseph C. Tunnel a negro boy by the named of Moses to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Brother Benjamin F. Tunnel all my part or share of the Schooner called the Dixin Swindell to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give to my Sister Hetty Brooks Five dollars.

Item: I give to my Sister Dianna G. Gibbs Five dollars.

Item: I give and devise to my Brother Alexander B. Tunnel the tract of land on the East side of the road joining Howards heirs which land was willed to me by my father Joseph Tunnel, dec'd., after the death of my Mother Esther Tunnel to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and devise the above named tract of land to my mother Esther Tunnel during her natural life.

Item: I give and bequeath to my mother Esther Tunnel one pair cart wheels one ox and one horse to her and her heirs and assigns.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend & Brother Joseph C. Tunnel my lawful Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my Last Will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other Wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof I the said Samuel T. Tunnel do hereunto set my hand and seal this the twenty ninth day of January A.D. 1852.
