In ye name of God Amen. I, Benedick Neal of the State of North Carolina and County of Hyde being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory blessed be God for it and calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and declare this instrument of writing to contain my last Will & Testament in manner and form following.  First that is to say I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my Body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner and what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath devise and dispose of in manner and form following.

I will and bequeath to my two daughters Arrabella and Orpha all my negro slaves the said negroes to remain undivided untill one of my daughters shall die marry or come to age.  I will and desire also that all my personall property except crop and stock be sold as soon as convenient after my decease and as soon as the crop is saved and secured the crop & stock also to be sold to the best advantage and total proceeds of the whole as well as what debts notes and cash on hand I have after paying all my just debts to be equally divided between my two daughter Arrabella and Orpha to them & their heirs.  I also nominate constitute and appoint my well beloved and trusty friends James McLoud and Thos. R. Gibbs my executors to this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 19th day of August AD 1829.

State of No. Carolina - Hyde County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions - August Term 1829
    Then was this last will and Testament of Benedick Neal decd duly proven in open Court by the oath of David Carter a subscribing witness thereto.  Ordered to be recorded.  At the same time Thos. R. Gibbs & James McLaud the two Executors within named came into Court and qualified Executors thereto.
