In the name of God, Amen.  I Elizabeth Hooper of the County of Hyde and State of North Carolina being well and in my rite mind and not knowing when I shall die do now make and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following namely--

First, I recommend my soul unto the hand of the Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors.

Second, as respects the worldly estate which I possess, I give and bequeath unto my beloved name sake Elizabeth Hooper one bed & bedsted with all the rest of my possessions at my death and her heirs forever.  Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my friend Cyrus K. Hooper my whole estate to settle this my Last Will and Testaments as hereby directed and agreeable to law in testimony whereof I the said Elizabeth Hooper have hereunto set my hand & seal at Kenekeet Banks the 26 day January A.D. 1857.  Signed sealed in presence of us

    Then was the foregoing & within paper writing purporting to be the last Will & Testament of Elizabeth Hooper, dec'd., exhibited for probate in Open Court and same execution thereof by the said Elizabeth Hooper is proved by the oath and examination of William S. Scarborough one of the subscribing witnesses thereto.  It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of the said Elizabeth Hooper and the same is ordered to be recorded & filed.
