In The Name of GOD Amen.

I Joseph Gibbs Senr of the State of North Carolina & County of Hyde Being weak in Body but of Sound and Disposing mind and memory Blessed be GOD for his Mercy and Knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to Die Do Make Declare and publish this to be and Contain my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form Following - First and principal of all I Recommend my Soul into the Hands of GOD who Gave it and my Body to be Buried on a Christian Like manner at the Descretion of my Executor.  And what Worldly Estate it hath Been pleas God to Bless me with I Give and Bequeath Devise and Dispose of in the following Manner--

1st I Lend to my Beloved Wife Esther all my Movable property Stock of Cattle Hogs & Horses and all my Negroes During her Widowhood and then to be Equally Divid amongst my Six youngest Children Charley, Betsy, Amey, Esther, Joanna & David and if any of these Should Die without Issue their part to be Equally Devid amongst the Remaining herein Named.  I also Lend her the use of My Land & plantation whereon I Now Live During her Widowhood.

2d I Also Give and Bequeath unto my two Sons Charley Gibbs & David Morgan Gibbs All the Land that I Own and am Entitled to, to be Equally Devid Between then after the Death or Marriage of their Mother and if Either of them Shoud die Without Issue then whole to go to Surviving One & if they Both are without Issue then to Go to my four Daughters Herein named.

3d and with Regard to my Other four Children Polley Harris Prescilla Credle and Heirs of Benj. Gibbs my Son and Heirs of Dorcas Gibbs my Daughter I Give them what I have already Given them which in my Opinion was their Equitable Share and I farther Constitute my wife Esther and my Son Charley Gibbs my Executors to this my Last will and testament but if my wife Shoud Marry again her Executorship to cease from then.

In Witness whereof I the Said Joseph Gibbs Sen do Sign Seal publish and Declare this Instrument of wrighting to Contain my Last Will and Testament in presence of us This Thirteenth day of August in the year AD 1819.
