In the name of God Amen.  I Isaac L. Farrow of the county of Hyde and State of North Carolina being sick and weak in body but of sound disposing mind & memory blessed be the Almighty God for it calling to mind the uncertainty of the life & it being ordained once for all people to die, I do make ordain & declare this instrument of writing to contain this my last will & testament disannulling & revoking all other wills & testaments hereto fore made by me either by word or writing & this only to be taken as my last will & testaments first that is to say I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it & my body to be decently buried in a Christian like manner as to what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give & dispose of in manner & form following, namely I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Dorcas, my sale flat, also my canoe & materials also my ox & ox cart one mare by the name of Silver, four head of choice cows, four head of choice stears, all my sheep from Joseph Sharbrows down to Patty Hammocks, & all my stock of hogs two choice beds & furniture all my crockery second best table loom woolen & linnen wheel & cards warping bars my dwelling house and plantation during her life or widowhood also the use of negro Tony & Sally five years also all my stool chairs also my two looking glasses & clock all my chist and trunks also five hundred dollars in cash.

Secondly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Brittiany G. Farrow my house & plantation at her mothers death or widowhood to her & her heirs forever.  Also all my right in the land that I bought of the Spencers, to her & her heirs.  Also old Nelly and two children named Abram? and Edny also all my sheep from Pattys Hammocks downwards also one black mare also a sorrel mare & colt.  I also give her my side board.  I also give her one set of tea spoons in her brand, also twenty acres of land of the old patch.  I also give her one half of the Schooner Time.  Also one quarter of the schooner Surpass.  Also four beds & furniture all of which I give unto her & her heirs forever. 

Thirdly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Farrow one hundred and sixty eight acres of land that I bought from Thomas Sparrow, also sixty two and half acres joining William O. Neale, to her & her heirs forever.  I do also give her all my land up the Light House Ridge to her & her heirs forever.  Also a tract of land where Enoch Miller now lives to her & her heirs forever.  I do also give unto my daughter Mary all my sheep from Joseph Scharbroughs upwards also my big table & one set of flag chairs.  Also one half the schooner Time and one quarter the schooner Surpass to her & her heirs.  Also a negro man by the name of Toney also a negro girl by the name of Sally & two small girls by the names of Nelly & Hasty to her & her heirs forever.  I do also give her four beds & furniture.  I do also give & bequeath unto my two daughters Brittany G. Farrow & Mary R. Farrow all my notes and cash that remains after my wife Dorcas has the money that I gave taken out to be equally divided between them.  Also all my land that has not been given away in this my last will & testament.  I give & bequeath unto my two daughters to be equally divided between them the balance of my estate in doors and out of doors I desire shall be sold at my death and all my expenses paid out of the money arising from said sale, and the balance to go to my two daughters Brittany G. Farrow and Mary R. Farrow.  Also I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Dorcas all the provisions remaining at my death.  I do also nominate constitute & appoint my friends Israel Brooks & Joseph C. Jennett Executors to this [last line is cut off on my copy].

Hyde County SS  -   Feby. Term 1843
    Then was this last will & testament of Isaac L. Farrow, dec'd., exhibited into open court & was duly proven by the oath of Joshua H. Dailey a subscribing witness thereto & ordered to be recorded.  At the same time Israel Brooks & Joseph C. Jennett, the executors therein named, came into court & was duly qualified as such.
