May 26, 1834 - Administrator's bond for $500.00 signed by James Gray, administrator, and Benjamin Saunderson & Israel Brooks as his sureties.

June 26, 1834 - Inventory & estate sale by James Gray, adm'r., amounted to $321.50.  Mentions paying the adm'r. for taking voyages to Gum Neck to pay the doctor, and attending business in Frying Pan and Elizabeth City.

Sept. 20, 1834 - Acct. of sails (sic) of the balance of property belonging to the estate of James Douglass, dec'd., sold by adm'r., James Gray, at 6 months credit.  Various buyers included Davis Gray, Banister Midyett, Selah Davis, Nancy Gray, Hezekiah Barnett, Irah Midyett, Samuel Spencer and Sparrow Midyett who bought a Bible for $.90.

June 8, 1835 - Acct. of Sales ratified at Chickamacomico Banks by Nathan Oneal, Nicodemus Midyett, Wm. Weatherington
