no date - Inventory of the estate of Frederick Barrow, Esqr., late of Hyde County, deceased (partial listing): 8 Negroes - Davy, Clem, Steve, Sam, Lue, Mima, Daniel, Hannah; 3 guns, 3 linnen (sic) wheels, 11 sheep, 3 stocks of bees, 39 head of cattle, hogs, 1 small trunk, 1 pr. carpenters compass, money found in the house (£2, 14 shillings).  /s/ James Carrowon

May 1788 - 1802 - Guardian accounts of Rebecca, Zachariah & William Barrow, orphans & minors of F. Barrow, Esq., by their guardian, Elizabeth Barrow - Mentions 1 yoke of oxen laid off for Rebecca in the division (and then a note that says "died in the winter 1788").  Various teachers mentioned for the orphans were Noah Egleton, Wm. Mainyard, Charles Brown, Joel Gurganus, John B. Hammond, Rich'd. Cozens, Edward Conneley, and Edmund Eborn.  Mentions paying Ebenezer Harris £1 for making a coffin for the deceased.  On the guardian account of Zachariah Barrow it mentions that in 1793 there was a payment of £6 for "2 years of Nursing his negro boy of a burn."  Mentions the yearly hiring out of Negro Stephen from December 1788 - 1802.

Jan. 1, 1793 - Promissory note from G. Jordan & Thos. Gaylard to pay Elizabeth Barrow, guardian to William Barrow, minor, the sum of £26, 1 shilling & 6 pence for one years hire of negro man named Stephen and promises to find said negro sufficient clothing and pay his taxes.  Test: Jas. Jan. 31, 1793 - Promissory note from James Cleeves & Jesse Latham to Elizabeth Barrow, guardian to Jesse Barrow, minor, the sum of £20 for the hire of negro man Clem for one year and promises to find him sufficient clothing and pay his taxes.  /s/ James Cleeves;  Jesse Latham

May 25, 1794 - Summons for the Sheriff of Hyde County to bring into Court on the last Monday in Aug. next Zachariah Jordan & John Gaylard who had a judgment brought against them by Elizabeth Barrow, guardian of Wm. Barrow, minor, in the sum of £26, 15 shillings & 10 pence and also the sum of £4, 7 shillings & 1 pence for costs and charges.  /s/ Benj'n. Foreman, CCC.  June 12, 1794

May 27, 1795 - Summons for the Sheriff of Hyde County to bring Jesse Latham to the County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions in Germantown on the last Monday in August next so that he renders to Jesse Barrow, by his guardian Elizabeth Barrow, the sum of £26 and 12 shillings which the said guardian recovered against him for his judgment.  Also the further sum of £5, 2 shillings & 5 pence for the cost & charges.  /s/ Benj. Aug. 31, 1795 - Summons to David Perkins,  Sheriff of Pitt County, to take Hardinas? Venorden, adm'r. with the will annexed on the estate of James Cleeves, deceased, and have him at the Court House in Germantown on the last Monday in November next to answer Jesse Barrow by his guardian, Elizabeth Barrow, of a plea of debt of £20 which he owes & from him he unjustly detains to his damages of £30.  /s/ Benj. Aug. 27, 1798 - Rec'd. of Jesse Latham payment in full of an execution obtained by Elizabeth Barrow, guardian to Jesse Barrow.  /s/ Fred'k. Barrow

Aug. 29, 1804 - Hyde County Sheriff summons to have Hector Scott and James Smith at the Court House in German Town to answer a complaint by Jesse Barrow against Scott & Smith for a judgment brought against them in the amount of £5, 9 shillings and 6 pence.  /s/ B. Foreman, CCC

May 27, 1811 - Hyde County Sheriff summons to have Seth Hovey, Esquire in Court on the last Monday in August next to answer a complaint by Elizabeth Barrow, guardian of Jesse Barrow.  Elizabeth Barrow won a judgment against Hovey in the sum of [unreadable] /s/ B. Foreman, Clk.  June 17, 1811
