William Warren Spencer Midyette & wife, Mary Little Midyett (older years)

William Warren Spencer Midyette, son of Daniel Midyett, Sr. & Sally Erby Pugh, was born July 15, 1833 in Mount Pleasant (now Gulrock), Hyde Co., NC.  He died on Sept. 13, 1910 and is buried in the Brooks-Midyett Cemetery at Gulrock.  He married Mary Little Midyett, daughter of Benjamin Harvey Midyett, Sr. and Celia Asenath Daniels, on Feb. 10, 1857.  Mary Little was born on July 22, 1836 and died Nov. 17, 1911.  Together William & Mary Little Midyette had seven children:
   1) Clarissa Jane Midyette (1859-1926) married Christopher Jones Lupton "Kit" Mason
   2) Sally Benjamin Midyette (1861-1862)
   3) William B.F. Midyette (1862-1920) married Ludie T. White
   4) Mary Elizabeth McDaniel "Bettie" Midyette (1867-1929) married Samuel Warren Baum
   5) John Joseph Wilfington Midyette (1870-1926) married Margaret Price "Maggie" Briley
   6) Emma Amanda Midyette (1876-1954) married Joseph Tarkenton "Joe" O'Neal
   7) Asenath Warren Midyette (1880-1886)

This is Emma Amanda Midyette O'Neal, daughter of the above couple.  She was born Sept. 17, 1876 and died June 12, 1954.  She married Joseph Tarkenton O'Neal on May 17, 1899 and to them were born 4 children:
1) Millie Crofton O'Neal (1900-1902) - erroneously listed in the 1900 census as "Laura" O'Neal.
2) Ione O'Neal (1903-1987)
3) Willie Marie O'Neal (1906-1996) married Alfred Jackson Pugh on Aug. 1, 1920
4) Georgia Rosaline O'Neal (1908-1986) married Ed Leary

Willie Marie O'Neal was born on June 11, 1906 to Joseph Tarkenton O'Neal & Emma Amanda Midyette.  She died Nov. 9, 1996 and is buried in the Brooks-Midyett Cemetery at Gulrock, NC [see her obituary] . Willie Marie married Alfred Jackson Pugh on Aug. 1, 1920 and they had two children:
   1) Eunice Gertrude Pugh (1923 - living) married 1^st Allan Christian Jakeman; 2^nd Alvin Percival Carawan
   2) Hilda Ruth Pugh (1928-2008) married 1^st George Bansworth; 2^nd Gerald Gill; 3^rd Thaddeus Brown, Jr.
