Thomas Franklin Dailey, son of Thomas M. Dailey and Nancy H. Gaskill, was born at Ocracoke in March 1875 and drowned in Durham's Creek, Beaufort Co., NC on Jan. 6, 1913 [see news article here]. Thomas married Annie Laura Dowty (1885-1970) in Beaufort County on Jan. 28, 1903. Three children were born from this union:
   1) Ethel Mildred Dailey - b. Dec. 18, 1903 Beaufort Co. d. Oct. 17, 2000 Married: Taylor Franklin Harris in New Bern , Craven Co., NC on Feb. 15, 1921.
   2) Lloyd Berry Dailey - b. Oct. 25, 1906 Beaufort Co. d. July 17, 1991 Fairfax, Va. Married: 1^st Annie Lee Jones; 2^nd Mary Lorraine Shields; 3^rd Iola Mae Motley
   3) Myrtle Ray Dailey - b. Sept. 20, 1910 d. June 4, 1979 Married: Ellis Grey Alligood in 1942
