* E-mail from Crystal Barfoot received June 29, 2008 - There is a “?” question mark after the daughter’s name “Kolhemina” – this is for good reason as my grandmother’s name was actually Kathryn.  Her age on the census is listed as ‘2/12’, which I am reading as meaning 2 months of age- which is the age she would have been in January 1920 (she was born October 7,1919 and passed away at the age of 86 in May 2006).  My grandmother’s full name was: Kathryn Swindell Spencer Cahoon.  She was born and raised in Hyde County, moved to Portsmouth, VA to raise her own family and then returned/retired back to Hyde County/Swan Quarter.
