Departed this life, at his residence in Harnett County, Mr. Ica Parker, on the 23rd of October, 1862.
	The subject of this brief notice was among the first to enter the service at the commencement of the war, and 
his whole heart was enlisted in the cause of his country. As a soldier, he was brave and faithful to duty, as a 
Christian, he was devoted and conscientious in the practice of his holy profession. He said, when dying, that he 
felt good. It seemed as if Heaven was so bright in view that death had no sting for him.
