MISS EMMA PATTERSON OF NIAGARA DIES IN WELL
LANDMARK (Statesville, North Carolina - May 3, 1907 Issue

The dead body of Miss Emma Patterson, who lived near Niagara, Moore county, was found in the well at 
her home one morning recently. She had not been well for some time and it is thought she went to the well 
during the night for fresh water and accidentally fell in. She was not missed from the house until next 
morning, when her remains were found in the well.

Emma was the daughter of W.T. & Harriett A. Patterson  
(November 17, 1868 - April 21, 1907)

1880 Census of Moore shows: W.T. Patterson, 35; Harriett A., 33; E.A., 12, daughter; D.C., 9, daughter; 
A.J., 6, son; M.J., 4, daughter; N.A., 6 mos., son;    - Bridges
