WILL OF ALEXANDER McLEAN - 1895

In the name of God, Amen. I Alexander McLean being aware of the uncertainty of life and the 
certainty of death do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
I command my soul to God who gave it. As to my worldly substances it is my will that my son Neill have 
my Negros Grace, Stephen and Abraham.

Item 2:  I give to my beloved wife during her life, my Negros Sophia and Jim, and at her death the 
said Negros are to belong to my daughter Jennet.
Item 3: I give and bequeath to my said daughter Jennet, my Negro boy Henry.
Item 4: I give to my son Peter McLean my Negro boy Washington.
Item 5: I give and bequeath to my son Duncan McLean's children Jennette, Catherine, Sarah Ann, Effy 
and Alexander McLean, my Negro boy Jasper.
Item 6: It is my will that my Negro boy John be sold to pay my debts.
Item 7: I give all my land to my wife during her life, then the house tract to go to my daughter Nancy 
and the other to my daughter Jennet.
Item 8: I give to ----- McLean my wife all my stock of horses during her life, the colt then to be  my  
son Neill's- the two year old to Nancy and the mare to Jennet. I give my gelding to my son Peter McLean. 
Item 9: I give all the balance of my stock of all kinds to my beloved wife during her natural life and 
at her death to be equally divided between my two daughters, Jennet and Nancy. 
Item 10:  I hereby constitute and appoint my son Neill McLean executor to this my last will and testament 
I testimony of which I hereunto set my hand and affirm my seal this February 9th, 1850.
