Know all men by these presents, that I ALFRED RICHARDSON of the County of Halifax and State of N. Carolina being of sound mind & memory for which I thank God & knowing the uncertainty of human life do think proper to make this my last will and testament.

First I want all of my just debts paid, after that I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, ELIZA RICHARDSON one cow by name Plum. I give to my daughter JANE one cow by name Jincy. I give to my son MASON one gray mare to be kept by him for the support of his mother & sister, the balance of my stock to remain <illegible> until the youngest child becomes twenty one years of age, - at the marriage or death of wife, the land to be equally divided among my sons. I give to my son ALFRED the privilege of selecting his part of the land.

When my youngest daughter becomes twenty one years of age the stock of cattle & hogs on land to be sold & the proceeds equally divided among my daughters- the gray mare mentioned in the above will not to be included in the sale as I give her to my son MASON upon the condition that he is to work her on the farm for the support of his mother & sister.

Lastly I appoint my son ALFRED executor to this my last will & testament.
I hereunto set my hand and seal this the 15th of July 1874
