GREAT PHILADELPHIA WAGON ROAD
This map was sent to me by someone else. It apparently came from "The Great Wagon Road, from Philadelphia to the South" by Parke Rouse Jr. You can buy it through Amazon and other dealers.
If you are researching family migrations in
the South during the 1700's and into the 1800's, this book is an excellent
resource to have at hand. Many of these roads are still there today,
in the form of modern highways, including Hwy 11 (and Interstate 81) through
the Valley of Virginia, and US Hwy 220 from Roanoke into North Carolina.
