ELIJAH B. PERRY -1843
Know all men by these presents that I ELIJAH B. PERRY of the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina this the __ day of October Anno Domini 1843
being of perfect mind & memory thanks God, but knowing the uncertainty of human life, think proper to make this my last will --
In the first place I give to my beloved wife LUCY B. PERRY the mansion house with four hundred acres of land thereunto attached and immediately surrounding,
during her natural life, at her death to be given to my son GREEN PERRY. I likewise give my wife the following Negroes her lifetime, Viz, LEWIS & PHILLIS,
DAVY, ELLEN, LESTER, MOSES & DIANAH his wife, EMILY, WILLIAM son of VINEY, SUCK (or LUCK?), & ANNIKY, ISHAM & AMY, to be equally divided among my children
or their legal heirs at the death of my wife - I let service give my wife LUCY B. PERRY, all of my furnature, my stock of cattle, sheep, and hogs as she may
desire her life time. Secondly, I give my son JOSHUA PERRY a tract of land & mill on Sandy Creek known as the FOSTER Tract containing seven hundred & sixty
acres to him and his heirs, including all the furnature, stock, & farming utensils on the plantation together with the following Negroes, to wit; SANDERS,
FANNY, ZILPHY, NEPTUNE, ORANGE NORPHLET son of ISHAM MURREAR, NED, TILLER, SANDERS JR., BARBARA, AMY, CHINY, WILLIAM, CAROLINE, PETER, CHAMP, JACOB,
SALLY, PHIL, ISHAM, THOMAS YORK to him & his legal heirs -- Thirdly- I give to my daughter LUCY P. WILLIAMS the following Negroes WASHINGTON, NANCY,
WILLIAM, NUTTY, HASTY, SAM, JIM, ABBY, CARY, PAT, PETER, SAM INGRAM, LUCY, to her & her legal heirs forever -- Fourthly- I give and bequeath to my daughter
MARY B. PERRY the following Negroes, LEW & his wife EMILY, MARGARET, JOE INGRAM, GUY, ISHAM son, DINAH JR., LONDON, RHODA, PLEASANT, NED, FLORA, DOLLY,
ALFRED JIM, OLD JOE's children LESY, SYLVIA, EASTER, SOOKY. With their increase to her & her heirs.
Fifthly- I give to my son SAMUEL PERRY a tract of land beginning at PERSON's Corner on Shoco Creek, thence along his line to the Isinglass up the Isinglass
to where the branch of the Rock Spring empties into the Isinglass from thence to the Corner to the New ground, from thence to the Hog Pen on the old Road
running to ELIJAH GUPTON's Hog pen. I likewise give my son SAMUEL PERRY the following Negroes, to wit, ABRAM, CHINA,TOM, HARDIE, LYDIA, DICK INGRAM, HARRY,
SUSAN daughter of FAN, FANNY & SANDERS her son, ALLEN, VINEY, JUDE her two children EASTER & EDMOND, ROSE daughter of WINNY, BETSEY, ISAAC JR., SUSAN, the
above Negroes to SAMUEL PERRY with their increase to him & his legal heirs forever.
Sixthly- I give to my son GREEN PERRY - A tract of land East of the old Road leading to ELIZA GUPTON's Hog Pen. I likewise give him four hundred ten acres
of land over the road towards Sandy Creek together with the land I own on the North side of Shocco Creek in Warren County to him and his heirs. I also give
my son GREEN PERRY the following Negroes LEWIS, INGRAM, JOHN, CLARA, KIT & child DANIEL, JERRY, JOHN JR., LEVI, JOE & MARIA his wife,
DARBY, ROSA, daughter
of MARIA, ADAM, MATHEW, LYDIA, WARREN, MARY, ISHAM JR., VAN to him and his legal heirs.Seventhly i wish my just debts paid out of the legacies bequeathed
each of my children by taking an equal amount from everyone.
And I hereby constitute and appoint my son JOSHUA PERRY Executor to this my will. And I have hereunto affixed my hand & seal his 10th of October 1843.

I hereby certify that I have given my son JOSHUA PERRY & LUCY P. CLANTON all the property they have in possession and no more. The other children have to
pay my debts out of the crop stock &c and should that not be enough sell enough of my Negroes to supply the deficiency and at the death of my wife the
Negroes I will to her are to be divided among my thru children SAMUEL, MARY & GREEN.
