WILLIAM HILL - will 1784

The Last Will & Testament of William Hill, deceased

In the Name of God Amen; I WM HILL of Franklin County in the State of North Carolina Being in a low State of Health through Infirmity; But of sound mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament revoking and disannuling all other Wills made by me heretofore. First and foremost, I resine my Sole to God that gave it to me and my Body to be decently buried and that my Funeral charges and all my Lawful Debts be first paid.
Item, I give and Bequeath unto my Beloved wife, POLLEY HILL, my Horse Peacock & my Riding Chair to she & her heirs forever-- Impremises, It is my Will and desire that all my Land be divided between my foure sons to wit: WM BENNET HILL, SAMUEL SUGAR HILL, JAMES JONES HILL, and CHARLES APPLEWHITE HILL, to them and their Heirs forever --
And further it is my Will and desire that my whole Estate may be kept together during my Wife's widowhood or untill one of my sons arrives at lawfull age, and let which of will happen first. Then it is my Will and desire that all the residue of my estate to be equally divided between my beloved wife and my four said sons or the survivors thereof. And I do hereby constitute and appoynt my beloved brother HENRY HILL, SAMUEL JONES, & JORDAN HILL for to be Trustees in seeing that my children is well brought up and to be of well edducated as in the Country will before and times will permit of.
In witness whereof I have heareunto set my hand and Seal this 12th day of June 1784.
