Will of Nathan P. Green - 1862

State of North Carolina, Franklin County September the 22, 1862. This day I Nathan P. Green being of sound mind and memory do publish and make this my last will an testimony to wit first I commit my sole to God that gave it and my body to be decently bared next I lend everything that I posses to my loving wife Mina Allis Green until my youngest child comes of age to raise them and to school them and when the youngest child comes of age the Negroes is to be equally divide between my wife and al of my children or the lawful heirs of their bodies and all of my perishable property to be sold with the exception of one years support at that time for my wife and the family that will remain with her at that time over and above one child part of my Negroes and the perishable I lend all of my land to my wife during her natural life time or widowhood to do what she pleases with and after her death to bee sold and equally divided between all of my children an the lawful heirs of their bodies. Last by I do appoint my worthy friend George Winston as my executor to this my last will and testament to settle my business
