PERRY, PERSON, CULPEPPER - I am working on editing a correspondence between Theophilus PERRY and Harriet Eliza (PERSON) PERRY during the Civil War. According to one source, Harriet and Theophilus were cousins and I am trying to document that. I would like to know the name of Theophilus’s mother (was she from the PERSON family?), marriage date to her husband, Levin, date of death, and other basic facts. Theophilus’s father was Levin PERRY who was born in North Carolina about 1811. He moved to Harrison County, Texas, sometime in the late 1840s and died on January 15, 1865 in Texas. I know from the correspondence, that by the time of the war Theophilus’s mother was dead (she apparently died in her early 30s) and Theophilus's father, Levin, was remarried. The children of Levin Perry were Theophilus (born February 5, 1833 in North Carolina), Hugh Hayes PERRY (born about 1842 in North Carolina), Louisa (born about 1845 in North Carolina), and then several children born in Texas beginning in about 1850. In case you need the information, Harriet Eliza PERSON was born about 1835 in North Carolina. Her parents were Thomas Arrington PERSON and Abiah Whitehead CULPEPPER. Counties associated with these families are Franklin County and Warren County.

JOHNSON, COPPEDGE - Johnson-Coppedge My GGrandfather, J.A. Johnson, married Mittie Coppedge on 9-7-1879 at the home of Thomas Coppedge, Franklin County. They lived in the "County Line" section of Franklin County. Their children were James Herbert Johnson, Edgar C. Johnson, William Haywood Johnson,Lena Bell Johnson & Nettie Johnson..I have not been able to find out any info on Mittie Coppedge or the parents of J.A. Johnson.. J.A died around 1900-1905 and was buried in the back yard of the house they lived in near County Line in Franklin county. Also a infant child Blonnie, was buried in the same location but we have not been able to find this house....After J.A. Johnson died, Mittie moved to Durham and after about a year moved to Clayton ,N.C. where she died in 1927...If anyone has any info on J.A. (we dont know his given name) or Mittie or where they lived when J.A. died, I would be very grateful for any information ....Dennis H. Johnson.

PARDUE/PERDUE - Looking for any information on the Pardues/Perdues of the early 1800s. I am particulary interested in a Frances (Frank) Pardue who lived in Franklin County in the late 1700s and early 1800s. He was in Warren County in 1790, but did spend sometime in Franklin County before he migrated to Kentucky around 1820. Does anyone have any additional information on this branch? I am looking for children of Frances (Frank). I do know he married Nancy Stephens, though I do not know where. Please e mail me with any data concerning this family. Thank you, Don Pardue

TUCKER, COOK, HARRIS, HAYES - Am researching family of James Claude Tucker (b. about 1876) who married Elba Lura Cook. Her parents were Richard Peter Cook and Mary Margaret Hayes. J.C. Tucker's parents were Willaim Buxton Tucker and Mary Alice Harris. I believe they were all living in Franklim County at one time and Mary Alice Harris Tucker may be buried in Oakwood (Oaklawn?) Cemetery. Does anyone know anything about these family names or about the possible name of the cemetery in Louisburg. James. C. Tucker was at one time a (the?) sheriff for Franklin County and I think they had a hotel on Main Street in Louisburg. Any help will be appreciated!
