The Archives have copies of these Bible pages in two different files, catalogued under MARS ID#’s 400.1.1.1555 and 400.1.1.1554) Family Record – MISCELLANEOUS (handwritten - "History of Great Grand-Parents of Other Side") Father’s Father – Archibald Hunter Coffield Father’s Mother – Priscilla Pope born in Halifax County, NC died 1872 They were married in Halifax County, NC on Feb 27, 1834 Mother’s Father – Joseph William Outerbridge born Dec 31, 1810 near Hamilton, Martin County, NC Mother’s Mother – Nancy Bowers born April 24, 1816 near Hamilton, Martin County, NC died on Feb 12, 1901 near Hamilton, Martin County, NC They were married at home near Hamilton, NC in year of 1832 and her father was Lewelling Bowers and her mother was Nancy Joyner. Lewelling Bowers was born in Pitt County, near Granville, NC and Nancy Joyner was born on “Rainbow Farm” near Hamilton, North Carolina, Martin County. His (J.W. Outerbridge) father was Bur Outerbridge, born Feb 21, 1767 near Hamilton, Martin County, NC. This Bur Outerbridge died Oct 20, 1819, and was the son of William Outerbridge and Catherine Revell, his wife. Coffield”) fought in the Civil War; and was in Co. H., 17th N.C. Infantry. Was wounded July 6, 1864, near Petersburg, Va., by his jaw bone being broken. He was captured near Fort Fisher in March 1865, and stayed in prison at “Point Look Out,” Md., for about 3 months.
