Thanks for the info. Our unsourced info is that John Alexander Gattis (8-20-1784 NC-aft 1860 GA), the son of James Gattis and Mary Anne “Nancy” King was married to Sarah “Salley” Blackwood, (1791 NC-aft 1860 GA) the daughter of William Blackwood and Margaret King on Jan. 11, 1809 in NC. They had the following children: John (or Isaac) 1810; James, 1811; Margaret, 1813/14; William, 1814; Nancy, 1816; Thomas T., 1818; Martha, 1820; Elizabeth, 1830; Charles Wesley, 1835 and Dave Hudson, 1837. We are informed that they also had two male children born between 1820 and 1830, one of whom we believe was Harrison Nathaniel Gattis, my husband’s great great grandfather. We base this info on the fact that John Alexander had a brother named “Nathaniel” and Sarah “Salley” had a nephew (the son of her brother John Blackwood and Elinor Craig) named Harrison, and it was common for the Gattis family and the Blackwood family to name their children family Christian names. If you run across any info that would confirm our belief, please advise. Thanks, Linda
