“I have found several, around 10 graves in a wooded area near my home. The property was to be developed but has been idle for the past year. How do you go about documenting the buried? I have seen a small headstone the reads, “”At Rest””. And there is a place marker from McLaurin Funeral Home of Durham. I would like to have this cemetery documented. Please help. Thank you.

The property is at the end of Lone Star Drive and across the street from a Church of Latter Day Saints.”

P.S

I wanted to give a correct address for the burial site in the woods. It is at the end of Silver Star Drive and Belgreen Road. In the woods across from the church. The church has no relationship to this property.

The cemetery that you are inquiring about is titled the “Green Family Cemetery” in the county records. That cemetery is own by the Greek Orthodox Comm of Durham. Purchase was done in 2006.

Some years ago a friend showed me the cemetery. My husband and I took photos of the markers that were visible at the time. since then I have posted what information I could find on Find A Grave. You will find the link below. Let me know if you wish to add some more information. I will gladly post any connecting family links. The Scott Cemetery was started on property that was originally owned by Henry Scott.
