D-OGS Website Featured on Taneya’s Genealogy Blog
The Federation of Genealogical Societies’ Annual Conference is going on this week in Knoxville, Tennessee. For those of us who aren’t able to attend the conference, Taneya offers several suggestions on what local genealogical societies can do to increase membership, attendance, and participation through technology and social networking.
In her blog post FGS and Genealogy Publishing 2.0, Taneya mentions our own D-OGS website as an example of a genealogical society that publishes their newsletter online as well as our quarterly journal, The Trading Path.
I think we are half way there to achieving her vision of how a genealogical society should be represented on the web. Our newsletter is online in both html and PDF formats. Our journal is also online to dues paying members in our members only section of the website. I hope to have a table of contents and an index of our journal available to our website patrons in the near future so they can get a taste of what we have to offer.
