I Alethia Hassell, being of sound mind and discretion do hereby make, publish and declare this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all previous instruments of like nature by me made.

Item 1.  It is my will and desire that my executor hereinafter named, shall at my death give my body a decent burial and that the expenses of the same shall be paid out of the first money that shall come into his hands from my estate.

Item 2.  I hereby give and bequeath to my son Lee Delane Hassell all the real property of any nature that I may own at the time of my death, the same being situated in the town of Manteo, it consisting of the home at which I now live and all the land connected with the same, for his use and benefit in fee simple and forever.

Item 3.  I Hereby constitute and appoint my said Son Lee Delane Hassell my executor, without bond, to carry into effect the provisions of this last will and Testament.

Signed, sealed, and delivered.  This the 4th day of April, 1922.

The undersigned, witnesses to the foregoing will and Testament, do hereby certify that  Alethia Hassell signed the said instrument this day in our presence that at her request and in her presence, we have witnessed her signature to the same and that in her presence and in the presence of each other and at her request we hereto affix our names as subscribing witnesses.  This April 4th 1922.

    A paper writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Alethia Hassell deceased is exhibited before me and undersigned Clerk of  the Superior Court for said County by  Lee Delane Hassell the executor therein named and the due execution thereof by said Lee Delane Hassell by the oath and examination of R. Bruce Etheridge the subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn, doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper now shown him purporting to be the last will and Testament of Alethia Hassell that the said Alethia Hassell in the presence of the deponent subscribed his name at the end of said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date of April 4th 1922.
    And this deponent R. Bruce Etheridge saith that the said Alethia Hassell the testatrix aforesaid did at the time of subscribing his name as the aforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be his last will and Testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribed his name at the end of said will as attesting witness thereto, and at the request and in the presence of said testator and this deponent further saith that at the same time when the said testator subscribed her name to the said last will as aforesaid and at the time of the deponents subscribing his name as attesting witness thereto as aforesaid the said Alethia Hassell was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief of this Deponent, and further these deponents say not. Severally  sworn and subscribed.

    It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last will and Testament of Alethia Hassell deceased.  Let said will together with the probate be recorded and filed
