In the name of God, Amen.

I Martha Ann Etheridge of the County of Dare and State of North Carolina, Being of Sound mind and manner, but considering the uncertainty of this frail and  transitory life, hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament in the manner and form as follows, to wit.  I give and bequest unto my beloved husband, Spencer Etheridge all my estate both real and personal to dispose of as he thinks proper.  I hereby constitute and appoint my said beloved Husband Spencer Etheridge Executor to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all others Will and Testament, by and heretofore made.  In witness where of I the said Martha Ann Etheridge, doth hereby freely set my hand and seal, This Oct.11th 1911.

    A paper writing purporting to be the Last will and testament of Martha Ann Etheridge deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, clerk of the superior Court, for said County by Spencer Etheridge the executor therein mentioned and the due execution thereof by the said Martha Ann Etheridge by the oath and examination of  Chas. A. Etheridge and Chas. S. Etheridge, the subscribing witness thereto who being duly sworn and depose and say, and each for him self deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Martha Ann Etheridge, that the said Martha Ann Etheridge in the presence of the deponents subscribed her name at the end of said paper writing whereby is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date 11th day of Oct. 1911.
    And this Deponent further saith That the said Martha Ann Etheridge, the testatrix aforesaid, did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid, declare the said paper writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be her last will and Testament, and this deponent, did therefore subscribe his name at end of said Will, as an attesting witness thereto, and at the  request and in the presence of said testatrix, and this deponent further saith, that at the same time when the said testatrix subscribed her name to the said last Will, as aforesaid,  and at the time of the deponent, subscribing his name as attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said Martha Ann Etheridge, was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a Will, and was not under any restraint, to the knowledge, information, or belief of this deponents, and further deponents say not.

Let said Will together with the probate, be recorded and filed.  This 28th day of Jan. 1919.

    I Mamie Etheridge of Manteo, North Carolina, do solemnly swear that I am the  sister of Chas. A Etheridge and that I am well acquainted with his handwriting.
    I, do further solemnly swear that the signature of said Chas. S. Etheridge, as attached to the Will of Martha Ann Etheridge as a witness to said will, is in the hand writing of said Chas. S. Etheridge.
    I, do further solemnly swear that the said Chas. S. Etheridge is not at this time a resident of the State of North Carolina and that he now resides in the state of Virginia.
