I Jesse B. Etheridge, of the aforesaid state & county being of sound mind discretion do hereby make, publish, and declare this my last will & testament, hereby revoking all previous instruments of like nature by me made.

Item 1:  My Executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses out of the which may come unto his hands belonging to my estate.

Item 2:  My Executor hereinafter named shall pay all my Just debts out of the money which may come unto his hands belonging to my estate.

Item 3:  I, Jesse B. Etheridge give and devise to my brother A.H. Etheridge the sum of one Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) said amount to be devised from the sale of my land situated South of Oregon Inlet Dare Co.

Item 4:  I Jesse B. Etheridge, give and devise to Edward S. Wise the sum of One Thousand and sixty Dollars ($1060) to be paid from the proceeds of sale of land referred to in item three.

Item 5:  I Jesse B. Etheridge, give and devise to Adam D. Etheridge the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200), to Roy Etheridge, the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) to John B. Etheridge Jr., the sum of Fifty dollars $50) to Peggie Etheridge the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to Aby Etheridge the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50).  Each of said amounts to be paid out of the proceeds of sale of land referred to in item three of this my will & testament.

Item 6:  I Jesse B. Etheridge do authorize and request my executor hereinafter named to pay the sum of Five Hundred dollars ($500) to Albert H. Daniels in the event he is unsuccessful in selling the land I now own South of Oregon Inlet, Dare Co to J. F. Byers of  Pittsburg Pa.

Item 7:  I Jesse B. Etheridge give and bequeath to my wife Annie L. Etheridge all the remainder of my estate both real & Personal of any nature whatsoever that I may own at the time of my death fro her use and benefit in fee simple and forever.

Item 8:  I Jesse B. Etheridge authorize and request my executor hereinafter named, the the event that I fail to make sale of my Beach land situated on the South Side of Oregon Inlet, Dare Co., before my death to proceed to sell same using all diligence possible to produce the market value.

Item 9:  I Jessie B. Etheridge do constitute and appoint R. Bruce Etheridge my lawful executor to carry out effect the provisions of this my last Will & Testament according to the true intent and meaning of same.

In Witness whereof I Jess B. Etheridge, Hereunto set my hand and Seal, this the 1st day of March 1924.

Signed, sealed, Published & declared by the said Jessie B. Etheridge to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.

    In the superior court a paper writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Jesse B. Etheridge deceased is exhibited before me the undersigned C.S.C. of said county by R. Bruce Etheriddge Executor therein named and the due execution thereof by  said R. Bruce Etheridge by the oath and examination of C.S. Meekins & R.M. Jennett the subscribing witnesses who being duly sworn doth depose and say and each for himself Deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of Jesse B. Etheridge that the said Jesse B. Etheridge in the presence of the deponents subscribed his name at the end of the said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date of March 1st 1924 and these deponents C.S. Meekins & R.M. Jennett saith that the said Jesse B. Etheridge the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing his name as the foresaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last will & testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of the said will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request, and in the presence of said testator these deponents further saith that at the same time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last will as aforesaid & at the time of the deponents subscribing their names as attesting witnesses Thereto, as the presence of the said Jesse B. Etheridge was of sound mind & memory of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information an belief of these deponents and Further these deponents say not.  Severally sworn & subscribed this 9th Day of April 1924.
