- John Owens Family Page -- John Owens 1st, initially shows up on the east side of the Great Alligator River (which is now mainland Dare) in 1728, in a Deed registered in Tyrrell County in 1729. An excellent site which has many photos of tombstones, some Bibles, Deeds, Wills etc., related to the genealogy of John Owens.
