Mary White

In the name of God, Amen, The twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and four. I Mary WHITE of the State of North Carolina in the County of Currituck being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God, that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall again receive the same by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God, to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis: it is my will and I do ordain in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfied.

Item: I give to my Son Henry WHITE one feather bed with the furniture and bed stead thereunto belonging, one heifer, two years old red and the half of the yoak of steers and cart, and likewise six dollars in money to pay for one years schooling.

Item: I give to my Son Hillary WHITE one feather bed with the furniture thereunto belonging and bed stead, one heifer two years old the one half of the stears and cart and six dollars in money the money to pay for one years schooling.

Item: I give to my Daughter Amey WHITE one cow named Susan with the calf and six dollars in money one wash bowl and nine earthern plates

Item: I give to my Daughter Lydia WHITE one heifer two years old dark brinded likewise the riding chair and harness likewise the feathers for to put into her bed and the woolen wheel one wash bowl and nine earthen plates and all the remainder of my money with the notes and bonds and the hire of the Negro Peter and I order all the remainder of my property to be sold and the money to be equally divided between my two Daughters Amey and Lydia.

I likewise make and ordain my only and sole executor Malachi JONES and Anthoney TRAME of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul, all and every other wills testaments legacies and executors ratifying and confirming this and no other, to be my Last Will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first written
