In the name of God Amen I James WHITE SENR. Of the County of Currituck being sound and disposing mind & memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and that it once appointed for man to die do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament in form following.

Imprimis. I give and bequeth to my beloved Wife Ann WHITE One Hundred silver dollars to her and her heirs I also lend the land and plantation whereon I now live and all my moveable property during life and one negro boy named Luke and after her death the negro boy Luke afsd. I give to my two Daughters Assenth WHITE and Mariam JARVIS and their heirs forever.

Item. I give & bequeath to my Son William WHITE land & other property which he has already recd to him & his heirs forever.

Item. I give and beqeath unto my Daughter Nancy BALLANCE land and other property which she [nothing else written]

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Margaret JONES land & one mare and other property she has already rec’d to her & her heirs forever.

Item. I give & bequath unto my Son James WHITE the land I bought of Holloway TATEM on Bells Island beginning at Wm. TATUM line at a chunkepine post on the sound side thence Northerdly with the water to a chunkepine post on sound side about midway of the land I bought of John BELL thence Westerdly across the plantation to the woods to a chunkepine post thence through the woods by a line of marked trees to the marsh including all the land down on the South side of the aforesaid line with a privilege in the marsh containing Ninety acres more or less to him & his heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son Alexanarid WHITE all the remainder of my land I bought of John BELL beginning at Jarvis WHITEs line at a chunkepine post on the sound side thence Northerly to Davis JONESes line thence Westerly with JARVISs line to the woods thence through the woods by a line of marked trees to the marsh including all the land down on the North side of James WHITEs line with a privilege in the marsh containing Fifty acres more or less to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas WHITE after the death of my Wife Ann WHITE part of the land I own on Churches Island beginning on a ceder post on the East side of Island thence across the plantation a due West corse to a pine at the marsh thence the same course through the marsh to the water side thence Northerly with the water various courses all round the North end of the Island to the first station to contain One Hundred & Fifty acres be the same more or less with a privilege in wolf house marsh also. One half of the land & marsh I bought of Joseph GRAY on Piney Island with other property he has already rec’d to him & his heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Marian JARVES the remainder part of my land and plantation on Churches Island after the death of my Wife Ann WHITE beginning at the aforesaid ceder post Thomas WHITEs line thence Southerly with the sound to Thomas GRAYs line thence South West with GRAYs line to the marsh thence with a ditch to the water thence Northerly with water to Thomas WHITEs line thence Easterly with said line to the first station to contain Fifty acres be the same more or less also the half of my land and marsh on Piney Island bought of Joseph GRAY with other property she has already rec’d to her & her heirs forever.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Assinth WHITE all my land and swamp in the back woods as my deeds will show with other property she has already rec’d to her & her heirs forever.

Item. I hereby empower my Executors to sell of my stock if it should increase to no one than is sufficient for the range & to divide the money or notes with my Wife and children aforsd. or their heirs.

Item. I give and bequeath unto all my children aforsd. all my Bank Land to sell or divide as a majority of them shall think best also the moveable property after the death of my said Wife Ann WHITE to be equally divided amongst all my children as a majority of them shall agree.

Lastly I hearby constitute appoint and ordain my Son Thomas WHITE my Wife Ann WHITE and Hosea BALL Executors to this my Last Will and Testament. Given under my hand and seal this 19th day of May 1830.
