I James WHITE of the State of North Carolina and county of Currituck being of sound mind and memory do on this 12th day of March in the year one thousand Eight hundred and ninety Seven AD 1897 make and declare this to be my Last will and testament in manner and form following.

Item first I give unto all of my grand children all of my Land that I now own or may own at the time of my death when the youngest becomes twenty one years of age and I give unto my two children James E. WHITE and Caleb C. WHITE the rent of all my land until the youngest one of my grand children becomes twenty one years of age and then Each one of my grand children to own a Equal right one child Equally as much as another.

Item Second I give unto my grand child Angie E. WHITE one Bed and Covering and one trunk.

as Witness my hand and Seal this the 12th day March A.D. 1897.

Currituck County}    In Re Estate of James WHITE, deceased
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of James WHITE, dec'd., is exhibited in open court for probate by S.J. WATERFIELD no executor being named therein; and the due execution thereof by the said James WHITE, dec'd., is duly proven by the oath and examination of S.J. WATERFIELD and Malachi CORBELL subscribing witnesses thereto; and it is further shown to the satisfaction of the court by said witnesses that the said James WHITE was, at the time of making said will, of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief.
    It is therefore considered, adjudged and decreed that said proof is sufficient and according to law and that said paper writing is and contains the last Will and Testament of James WHITE, dec'd.  And on motion it is ordered that said Will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Currituck County and as such filed as provided by law in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of said county.
