Jan. 26, 1749 - Apr. 7, 1752

January ye 26th 1749

In the Name of God amen.

I Joshua WALLS of Hatteras Banks In the County of Corrituck Being Very Sick & weak In deed? but In perfect Saine mine & memory, thanks be to God therefor and Calling to mind the mortality of my body an knowing that it is appoynted __est for all men [crease] first make this my Last will & Testament.

and first of all I Recommend my Soul to god who gave it me not doubting but at the General Resurrection I Recieve it agan By the mighty Power of God--and as Touching my worldly goods wherewith god has Been pleased to Bless me within? I Dispose of In manner & forme.

Item I Give to my Brother Thomas WALLS my Long Gun [for] Ever.

Item I give to my well Beloved Wife Mary an? WALLS my Plantation I now Live on with all the Rest of my Movable goods & Stock of Every kind allso Every other thing or things belonging to me whether at home or abroad. --- Turn's over

and further more I Leave my Said wife Mary WALLS wholy Executrix to this my Said will and I do thereby make void all other Wills or gifts what Ever that this alone and no other is my Last will & Testament.  In witness hereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the Day & date above.

Present His Majesties Justices
    These may Certifie yt Joshua CAMPBELL one of the Subscribing Evidences to the Within will appeard in open Court and made Oath on the Holy Evangelest that he was Present and Saw Joshua WALLS Sign Seal Publish and Declare the Within to be & Contain his Last will & Testament and that the Said Joshua WALLS was at that Time of Sound & Disposing Memory and that he also see Joseph WILLIAMS the other Subscribing Evidence Sign his Name thereto at the Same time.  Then also appeard Mary WALLS Executrix in open Court and took the Executor Oath in due form of Law.  Orderd that the Honble Nathaniel RICE Esqr Secretary of this Province have Notice thereof that Letters Testamentary Issue thereon as the Law Directs.
