In the name of God Amen I John TATUM of the County of Currituck being very sick and ___ _____ or _____ health [torn] of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given unto [torn] mind of the mortality of my body and knowing that it is [torn] once to die do meake and ordain this my Last Will [torn] that is to say Principally and first of all I give and [torn] my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my [torn] recommend to the earth to be buried in decent christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrec[torn] receive the same again the the Almighty power of God and do [torn] Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner

First I give and bequeath to my Son John TATUM the [torn] and plantation where I formerly now live to him his heirs and assigns forever. Also I gave and bequeath to my Son Daniel TATUM fifty acres of _ack (back?) lands to him his heirs and assigns forever.

_____ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Rodah SAWYER one feather bed and furniture if in being if not in being for ten pounds to be rased out of my estate in the lu(?) of the bed all the remainder of my property to be equally divided between Rodah SAWYER, Mary ROBERTS, Daniel TATUM, Darkes SAWYER, Maxey TATUM, Samuel TATUM to them and their heirs and assigns forever

I leave John TATUM and Daniel TATUM my hole and sole executors of this my Last Will and Testament I do hereby utterly disallow revok and disannull [torn] executors by me in any ways before _____ willed and bequeathed [torn] confirming this an no other to be my Last Will and Testament in witness [torn] hereunto set my hand and seal this eight day of December in the year of [torn] one thousand eight hundred and seven.
