John Strowde of Albemarle Co.
Jan. 28, 1693 - Jan. 25, 1703/4

In the name of God Amen the twenty eight of Jeniuary one thousand six hundred ninety three I John STROWDE of Corrowtuck In the County of Albymarle In the province of North Carilina planter being weake in Boddy butt of perfect Memory and Remembrance praysed bee God doe make and ordain this my last will and teastiment In forme following viz

first I bequeath my Soule Into the hands of Allmighty God my Maker hopeing that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus crist my only Saviour and Redeemer to Reseive free pardon and forgiveness of All my Sins and ass for my boddy to bee buried In Cristian buriall att the discretion of my execitors hereafter nomminated.

Item I Give and bequeath unto my two dafters Mary And Elizabeth all My goods and Chattels In manner and former following that is to say my whole mind and will is that my above saide goods and Chattels bee equalally devided betwene my above saide two dafters my wifes thirds only excepted and ass for my land which is in quantity eight hundred and forty Ackers My whole mind and will is that my Saide land bee allso equally Devided Betwene by above Saide two Dafters and I Doe by vertue of theise pressents freely fully and obsolutely give and bequeath unto my Dafter Mary the northermost halfe of my Saide land and I doe freely & fully and obsolutely Give and bequeath unto my Dafter Elizabeth the southermost halfe of my land and further moore my whole mind and will is that In Case either of my above Saide dafters depart this tempory life withoute Issue lawfully begotten that then and from thenceforth her part so deveased? or Issue Illegilli? Shall  Derect? and Desend unto my sirviving dafter [crease] her heires lawfully begotten and further moore my whole mind and will is that my dafters and the heires of theirs Boddies lawfully Begotten Shall have and Injoy my Saide land with the appurtenances for ever that is to Say to the worlds end surressively? ass is above limmited and appointed And I make ordaine John BENNETT and Mr. Richard BRIAN Both of the precinct of Corrorotuck to bee my Execitors of this my last will and teastiment And I disanull and revoke all other wills and teastiments In wittness where of I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written.
