The Last Will and Testament of James SPRY was exhibited in open court at May Term 1846 and the execution of the same proved by the oath of Saml. B. DOZIER one of the subscribing witnesses thereto in due form ordered registered and the executrix qualified.

   I James SPRY of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina do this 7th day of March One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Six, being in sound mind and memory but convinced of the uncertainty of life do make and ordain this my last will and Testament.

   Item.  I give and bequeath to my Sons Samuel SPRY, Spencer SPRY and Solomon SPRY the sum of Five shillings North Carolina currency to them and their heirs forever.

   Also I give and bequeath to my Daughters Fanny LEE and Susan SPRY the sum of Five shillings each North Carolina currency to them and their heirs forever.

   Item I lend unto my beloved wife Bridget SPRY after paying my just debts all of my estate within doors and without lands and tenements during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or marriage I give and bequeath the above named property to my two Sons James R. SPRY and Jesse SPRY to be equally divided between them and should the said James R. SPRY or Jesse SPRY die without a lawful heir begotten of his body the other to be his heir and have the whole of the above named property.

   And I hereby appoint my wife Bridget SPRY sole executrix of this my last will and Testament to carry its provisions into effect and it is my wish that no security be required from her for its fulfillment. Should she die before either of my Sons James R. SPRY or Jesse SPRY become of age I do hereby appoint Caleb T. CHAPLAIN my executor and guardian for my two Sons.
