In the name of God Amen, I Dinah SOREY being sick & weak in body & my illness fluctuating but perfect in mind & memory as when in health thanks to my God for the same & considering the uncertainty of life think proper to make & ordain this to be my Last Will & Testament as Followeth:

Item 1st: I give & bequeath to John C. SIMMONS the following negroes viz: Daniel, Nancy, Pleasant, Eliza, & Lamb but it is my request & desire that the sd. John C. SIMMONS will admit sd. negroes to have the result of their labour but ever to be under his care & protection & his heirs forever.

Item 2nd: I give & bequeath to Black Water Meeting House for it, repair or towards the building of a new one as the Church may think proper Fifty dollars to be retained in the hands of my Exr. Without interest until the building or repairing of sd. meeting house be completed.

Item 3rd: I give & bequeath to Maria GISBORN one negro boy named Daniel, one buffet crockery & glass ware and one loom & harness one gig to be sold & the money arising therefrom one bed & furnature one doz stool chairs one blue chest also another bed & furnature also one mahogany table one great wheel & one linning wheel & ¾ of the net proceeds of my estate after paying all just debts & legacies to her & her heirs forever.

Item 4th: I give & bequeath to Eliza DOZIER one bed & furnature 3rd choice to her & her heirs forever.

Item 5th: I give & bequeath to Susan DOZIER one bed & furnature 4th choice to her & her heirs forever.

Item 6th: I give & bequeath to my Brother in Law Dennis SOREY ¼ of the money arising from my estate after paying all just debts & legacies to him & his heirs forever.

I also nominate & appoint my friend John R. BRIGHT my whole & sole Executor to this my Last Will & Testament revoking all others heretofore by me made. Given under my hand & seal this the 2nd day of February 1833.

[NOTE:  The heading of this will says "Exhibited Feby Term 1832" but Dinah signed the will on Feb. 2, 1833 and it was recorded almost a year to the day on Feb. 3, 1834.  Other wills before and after this will were exhibited in 1832.]
