In the name of God, Amen. I Armstead SOLES of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, am now in a weak and low state of health, but of sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows.

Item: I lend the use of four negro to my beloved Wife Elizabeth SOLES, by the name of James, Charles, Cuse and her choice of the negro girls, during her life or widowhood.

Item: I lend the use of all my land to my Wife Elizabeth SOLES, during her widowhood, and when ever she marries I lend her one third of said lands, during her natural life.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Polly TATUM one certain piece or parcel of land situated as followeth, beginning at the side of the Pocason running up a ditch southwardly to one other ditch, thence up said ditch to the main road, thence across, the said road by a waterhole to a branch then down the center of said branch to William BRABBLEs line, thence along said BRABBLEs line northwardly to a white oak, thence down DUNTONs line to the first station, containing fifty acres more or less, to she and her heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Polly TATUM three negroes by the name of Cuse, Reuben and Violet, one feather bed and furniture, one chest, to she and her lawful heirs forever, this being the whole of my property I intend for her.

Item: I lend unto my Son Evan SOLES all my land that I have not already given away to him during his natural life then after his death to be divided amongst his lawful heirs, to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I also lend unto my Son Evan SOLES one negro man by the name of James during his natural life, and after his death, I give said negro to his lawful heirs, them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my Son Evan SOLES one feather bed and furniture one chest to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Sally WHITE three negroes, by the name of Charles, one by the name of Chany, and Litty, one feather bed and furniture, and one chest to she and her heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Sally WHITE a sufficient quantity of my perishable property at the death of my Wife Elizabeth SOLES to be sold for six months credit to amount to three hundred dollars, to she and her heirs forever.

Item: All the remainder part of my property that is not already given away, I give to my Wife Elizabeth SOLES, Evan SOLES, Sally WHITE, to them and their heirs forever. Also I leave Caleb ETHRIDGE, Maxey TATUM and Thomas WHITE my whole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness my hand and seal this 2nd day of January 1811.
