Simpson
June 26, 1860 - Aug. Term 1860

In the name of God Amen.

I Zachariah SIMPSON of the State of North Carolina and Currituck County being of sound and disposing mind do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows;

Item I -  I give and bequeath to my two sons Edward D. SIMPSON and Henry H. SIMPSON the John SIMMONS tract of land to be equally divided between the said Edward D. SIMPSON and Henry H. SIMPSON by three disinterested persons chosen by the said party to them and their heirs forever.

Item 2nd, -  I give and bequeath to my two sons Albert J. SIMPSON and William G. SIMPSON my home tract of land to be equally divided to them and their heirs forever, to each an equal right to marsh land and firewood.

Item 3 - By my request the two sons that heirs the buildings on the above named tracts of land shall pay to the other two sons Thirty five Dollars each to them and their heirs forever.

Item 4 - I give and bequeath to my son Zachariah SIMPSON my negro boy Peter to him and his heirs forever.

Item 5 - I lend to my wife Nancy my negro girl Emiline and negro boy Lemuel during her lifetime, at her death, among Albert J. SIMPSON, Edward D. SIMPSON, William G. SIMPSON and Nancy H. SIMPSON to be equally divided without sale if it can be agreed upon, if not to sell but not out of the State of North Carolina the said negroes named to be given to my said named four sons to them and their heirs forever.

Item 6 - I give and bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Lydia WICKER dec’d Five Dollars to be equally divided between them, and their heirs forever.

Item 7 -  The residue of my property I lend to my wife Nancy during her lifetime, after which to be equally divided between my five sons Zachariah SIMPSON, A. J. SIMPSON, E. D. SIMPSON, Wm. J. SIMPSON and Henry H. SIMPSON to them and their heirs forever.

Lastly; - I constitute and appoint my two sons Zachariah SIMPSON and E. D. SIMPSON Executors to this my last will and testament revoking all former wills bt [sic] me made.

Given under my hand and seal this 26th day of June, 1860
