In the name of God Amen I Rebeccah SIMMONS of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being in a decling state of health but in my perfict senses and disposing memory thanks be to God for it, do make constitute and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth.

Item. I give and bequath unto my Daughter Elizabeth SIMMONS one negro girl named Susan and one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequath unto my Daughter Lydia SIMMONS one negro man named James and one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequath unto my two Daughters Elizabeth SIMMONS and Lydia SIMMONS one cow and calf and their increase to be equally divided between them.

Lastly, I nominate and appoint Josiah JOLLIFF and Hillary SIMMONS to be executors to this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the second day of Feby In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.

State of North Carolina Currituck ? August Term 1829
    The Last Will and Testament of Rebeccah SIMMONS was exhibited and proved in open Court by the oath of Enoch D. FEREBEE a subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded. The executors therein named having relinquished their right to qualify as executor thereto letters of administration was granted with the will annexed to Nathan POYNER who qualified and bonded in the sum of $200.00 with H. SIMMONS and William LEAS as securities.
