Frances Simmons
Oct. 21, 1757 - Dec. 20, 1757

In the Name of God Amen I Frances SIMMONS of Currituck County and in the Province of North Carolina being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God thatfore calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is apointed for all the? wemen? once to die doe make and ordain this my Last Will and testament that is say Principally and first of all I give and _______ my Soul into the Kindom of God that gave it and as for my Body I reckomend it to the eath to buried in a Christion lick and decent manner at the discression of my Exetor and I shall receive the same again by mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it Heath peleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the manner the following --

Impriamis  I give unto my dearly beloved Son Samuell SIMMONS that is under age but I leive him five?  ______ for him self.  I give him as much of the corn that is now a growing as to rig? him a good sute of clous and a you Lam that his fathier marked for him.

I do leve my Brother John SIMMONS to my houl and Soul Exetr And garten [guardian] to my to? children of this my Last Will and testament utterly disanulling revoking and disalowing every other former Will or Wills this twenty firsth day of october in year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and fifty seven.

Currituck County }        at the Courthouse for the Same on the 20th Day of December 1757

Present His Majesty’s Justices
    These may Certify that John BRABBLE and William CHITTUM two of the Subscribing Evidenies to the within Will appeared in open Court and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they were present and saw Frances SIMMONS Sign Seal publis pronounce and declare the Within to be & contain the last Will & Testament and that the said Frances SIMMONS was then and at that Time of sound & disposing Memory that they also saw Joseph PEARCE & Samuel Holsted The other two subscribing Evidences sign their names then to at the same Time ---  Then also appeared John SIMMONS, Executor of the within Will in open Court and took the Executor’s Oath in due form of Law.
    Ordered that the Honble Richard SPAIGHT Esq. Secretary of this Province have Notice thereof that Letters Testmentory may issue thereon as the Law Directs.
