In the Name of God Amen
I William SHERGOLD of the County aforesaid being weak in body but of sound memory (blessed be God) do this twelweth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Eight make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following (That is to say)

Improvmis: I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Parker SHERGOLD all my lands in County of Currituck to him and his heirs forever and I also give my said Son my negro boy James and my negro wench Dol and her child Grace my Silver hilt sword _____ with all my wearing apparrell boath linen and Wooling hats and Wegs to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Dafters Sarah SHERGOLD one negro girl Rachel and my negro boy Joe and my mulatto woman and her child John SAVELS to her and her heirs forever and I give and bequeath to my said Dafter Sarah my young horse cald Jack and a horse colt cald Chance my best feather bed, bolster, Blue Rug a new Blancit a pare of cotton sheets a Walnut bedstead Indian Mat and cord, a black trunk and a small trunk with all her mothers and mother in law wearing apparrell of what kind soever three plain gold rings and one stone ring set in gold and six Silver tea spoons marked S: S: and her side sadle and bridle to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I leave my Land lying in Pasquotank County to be sold by my Executor hereafter mentioned to pay my Funerall Charges, Cost Charges and my debts.

I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas Parker SHERGOLD all the rest of my Estate within dores and without dores of what kind soever after my debts are paid except my Gold Watch and blew stone seal thall? ging? to it which Marked I give and bequeath to my friend Major Robert WHITEHALL in consideration of taking the trouble of Executorship on himself of which I make no doubt of his faithful performance and I also leave my _____ and good friend Robert WHITEHALL before mentioned my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I give thereunto set my hand and seal this Day and Year before Written.
