    In an Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Session held at the Courthouse in and for the County of Currituck aforesaid on the first Tuesday in October Anno domini 1766

Present His Majesty's Justices
    The Last Will and testament of William SCOTT late of the same County deceased having been then and there in open court proved in due form and ordered to be registered accordinly here follow In Hoc. Verba---

In the name of God Amen I William SCOTT of Currituck County in the province of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound memory blessed be God do this eighteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I give to my Son William SCOTT eighty eight acres of land where I now lived called the Thorofare Ridge also I leave to my Son William SCOTT one bed and the furniture belonging to it, two pewter basons, also I leave to my Daughter Mary CREDEL one grey cow and calf called goodluck and one pewter dish and bason and one pot and three hogs; also I leave to my Daughter Elizabeth JARVIS one grey horse aged two years ole also I leave her one pewter dish also I leave to my true and loving Wife Anne all the remainder of my whole estate to her during her natural life and widowhood she making no waste or destruction thereof Upon and after her decease I give and divide the same to my said Son William SCOTT, and Mary CREDELE to be divided between both equally and their heirs of their body for ever.  And I make and ordain my said Wife Anne SCOTT and my loving Son William SCOTT my whole executrise of this my Will in Trust for the Intents and Purposes in this my Will contained , In witness whereof I the said William SCOTT have to this my Last Will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered by the said William SCOTT as and for his Last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who were present at the signing and sealing thereof.
