The Last will and Testament of Willoughby SAWYER Exhibited August Term 1832

In the name of God I Willoughby SAWYER of Currituck County being of Sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God do this the 10 day of June in the year of our Lord 1832 make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner Following that is to say.

First I give and bequeath to my wife Mary SAWYER all my land on the Indian Ridge that is to say his (sic) land & swamp with all the privilages belonging thereto. I also give to my wife one negro man by the name of Dempsey and one negro woman by the name Gina. I also Lend to my wife one negro girl by the name of Leman till she shall arive to the age of 15 years.  I also give to my wife all my house hold and kitchins furnature except one set of tables silver spoons I desire for my Daughter Caroline to have when she arives to age.  I also give to my wife hur first choice of my horses and my Gigg and harness two milch cows her choice.  I also give her corn and pork out of my crop and stock to Last her one year comfortable.

I give and bequeath to my Daughter Caroline SAWYER one young negro man by the name of March one negro woman by the name of Betsey and child by the name of Mary the negro girl Lemon that I have lent to my wife till she arrives to 15 years of age I give to my Daughter Caroline after the expiration of the 15 years.

I give and bequeath to my wife 10 head of sheep I desire that my just debts be paid and all the Residue of my money to go to my Daughter Caroline SAWYER

I make and ordain my worthy friend Caleb SAWYER Executor to this my Last will and Testament in witness whereunto I have set my hand and affixed my seal
