March Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Session 1775 The Last Will and Testament of Lemual SAUNDERSON, Jacob LEETCHFIELD and William MICKENS late of this County deceased was in open Court exhibited proved and the respective executors except MEEKENS executors qualifyd in due form of law the said Wills were ordred to be recorded and stand here recorded as followeth Viz.

In the name of God Amen, I Lemuel SAUNDERSON of the County and province afsd. being sick and weak of body of a sound and disposing mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same calling to mind that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth , Princepally, and first of all I give and recommend my soul to Almighty God that first gave it me nothing doubting, but to receive in and through the merits of my redeemmer Jesus Christ pardon for all my sins, touching those worldly goods where with it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath in the following manner.

Impremis: I give and bequeath to my dear and loveing Wife Mary SAUNDERSON four negroes (Viz) one fellow named Daniel, one Boy named Peter, one negroe woman named Ginney one Do named Rachel I also give to my wife three feather beads and the furniture to them belonging one mehogony desk that her Father gave her one horse named Folley and bridle & saddle and ten cows and calves, five of which out of the stock that belongs at home, the other five out of the stock at the banks and eight head of sheep.

Impremis: I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas SAUNDERSON and to his heirs lawfully begotten forever the land and plantation wheron Henery GIPSON now lives which land was given by Col. John WOODHOUSE to his Daughter Mary, also the plantation and land I bought of Richard BARROT and the land and plantation whereon William MITCHEL formerly lived joining the land I bought of BARROT.  I also give my Son Thomas three negroes Viz--one fellow named Tom one boy named Joshua one girl named Betts, one bead and furniture with tickling & burg-tick one green rugg and furniture one walnut desk one small mahogony do. two walnut chests.

Imprimis: I give and bequeath to my Son Lemuel SAUNDERSON and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever my land plantation and marsh known by the name of the Cod of the Bay, excepting sixty acres whereon Nazaan MITCHEL now lives known by the name of Barefield Point, which I give to Joseph SAUNDERSON SEN. and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and in case he dies without lawfull issue afsd. then and in that case I give the said land unto my Son Lemuel and his heirs as afsd.  I also give and bequeath unto my Son Lemuel SAUNDERSON and to his heirs lawfully begotten forever the plantation whereon I now live and all the land and marsh belonging thereto from the cod of the bay to my Brother Jesses line. I also give my said Son three negroe (Viz) one boy named Dick one do named Jack one girl named Sarah one feather bead with striped tick home spun one blue rugg and furniture one mohogony desk and one mahogony Cast of drawers.

Impremis: I give to my two Sons Thomas and Lemuel SAUNDERSON one negroe woman named Pegg and her increase to be equeally divided between them as they think proper when they come of full age.  I also give to my two Sons afsd. all the remainder of my stock of Cattle and horses that I have not already given away to be equeally divided between them.

Impremis: I leave all the remainder part of my estate that I have not already given away to be equeally devided between my loving Wife Mary SAUNDERSON and my two Sons Thomas and Lemuel SAUNDERSON.

My will and desire is that Joseph SAUNDERSON SEN. should have all my weareing apparill.

I do constitute my dear and loveing Wife and my Father Thomas SAUNDERSON my whole and sole Extrix. and Exetor. of this my Last Will and Testament disanulling all others in testemoney wherof I have here unto set my hand and affixt my seal this 23 day of Jan. in the year of our Lord Anno Domi 1775.
