State of North Carolina Currituck County

In the name of God Amen, I John SANDERSON of the State and County above writen, Farmer, being weak in body but sound disposing mind and memory and knowing that it is once appointed for all men to die and after death to judgement I therefore recommend my soul to the Almighty God that first gave it to me and my body to be burried in such christian like manner as shall be to the discretion of my executors, as shall be hereafter mentioned and as touching my worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath in manner and form as shall be hereafter mentioned in permision.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Daniel SANDERSON and to the heirs of his body lawfuly begotten, one negro boy by the name of Ishmael and one young sorrel mare, and one half of the stock as will appear by deed of gift.

Item I give unto my Son John SANDERSON and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever one mare and colt by the name of Diamond and one roan horse by the name of Tom and one half of the stock of cattle as will appear by deed of gift to him and his heirs lawfully begotten.

Item I give unto my Daughter Susanna SANDERSON and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten the Narrows Island and eight head of steers that is on said island as is given by deed of gift to her and her heirs lawfully begotten.

Item I give unto Jessey SANDERSON Son of Mary SANDERSON and to the heirs of his body forty acres of land laying back of my home tract joining the land of Adam HUMPHRIES and the land of Thomas WHITEHALL and the land of Wm.. HUNNINGS and one half of young yearling horse and one half of all my property that is at his Mothers that is mine.

Item I give unto Dorcas SANDERSON Daughter of Mary SANDERSON and to the heirs of her body one negro wench by the name of Liner and her child Judey to her and her heirs forever, and one half of young sourrel horse yearling and one half of all my stock that is at the Narrows at her Mothers and half of the household furniture that belongs thare of mine, and I do give unto said Jesse and Dorcas SANDERSON one riding chair and harness and all the money that is due me at this time after paying of all my debts to be sold by my executors and to be equally divided between them and in case that either of them should die without lawful issue to return to the surviving one, and if they should boath die without lawful issue to return to the heirs of the giver and four of the largest of my steers to be sold by my executor and the money to them and their heirs

Item I give unto my two Sons Daniel and John SANDERSON and the heirs of his body my work stears to be kept on the plantation for the use of said plantation and all my stock of all kinds, that is not given away by deeds of gift and all of the corn and poark that is to spare to be sold by my executor as shall be hereafter mentioned and the money to be divided between my three children Susanna, Daniel, and John SANDERSON, so as to make a equal division between what is sold reference being had to the deeds of gifts to them and their heirs and it my will and desire that Jacob and Jonas, and Peggey and Daniel and Ishmail should be kept on the plantation untill my two Sons comes to age if thought proper by my exector and I do hereby impower my executor such part of the corn and poark for support for said negroes and such stock as he may think proper to let stay on said plantation and it my will and desire that the two mares that I gave to my two Sons to be kept on my said plantation for the use and I do impower my executor that may be hereafter mentioned to sell such property as he may think to the advantage of said children and to let the above mentioned negroes stay on said plantation untill my children comes to age if he think proper and the profits thereof equally divided between my two Sons Daniel and John SANDERSON and it is my will and desire that my three children Susanna SANDERSON, and Daniel and John SANDERSON should live my executor untill they come to age.

I do hereby nominate and appoint Daniel LINDSEY for for the whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament the revoaking and disannulling all other wills or forms of wills but for this one to be my Last Will and Testament as witness to the same have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this the 27th day of November 1802.
