In the name of God Amen, I Humphrey POYNER of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, calling to minde the none certainty of this life and it being ordained once for all men to die, doe make and ordain this instrument of wrighting to contain my Last Will and Testament in manner and form of followeth

First that is to say, I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be bured in a place where it shall please my executors hereafter named and as to what estate it hath been pleased God to bestow me I give and dispose in manner as followeth,

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son William all my land where my house and plantation is to the south side of the road or highway which is now Ditcht to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas all my land which lyeth to the North side of the afsd road or ditch to him and his heirs forever.

I also give all my parishable estate to be equally divided between my Daughters Sarah and Lydia and my Son Jonathan to them and their heirs forever, after all my lawfull debts is paid and costs of settling my estate.

I also constitute and appoint my Son William my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament, to see all my estate settled according to this my Last Will and the law in such cases shall require as witness my hand and seal this 27th of May Anno Dom 1790.
