   In the name of God Amen, I Griffin POYNER of the State of North Carolina Currituck County being in a low state of health but in perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament.

   Item 1st I give unto all my Brothers and Sisters and their heirs forever one piece of land containing Sixteen acres and half situated in the Back Woods to them and their heirs forever.

   Item 2nd I give unto Susan FISHER one bed and table one chest to her and her heirs forever.

   Item 3rd I give unto my beloved wife Lydia POYNER all the ballance of my property within doors and without lands and tenements to her forever.  

   In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this the 3rd day of Novr. 1846.

    John SIMMONS jurat

A paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Griffin POYNER was exhibited in open court and the execution of the same was proved by the oaths of A. DUKE and John SIMMONS witnesses to the same who proved said POYNER signed published and declared said paper writing as his Last Will and Testament, that the said Duke and Simmons signed the same at his request an in his presence and at the time thereof said testator was of sound mind and memory ordered and adjudged that the said paper writing be and is hereby admitted to probate as a Last Will and testament passing both personal and real estate.
