In the name of God Amen, I William POWERS, of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say----

I give and bequeath unto my two Grandsons Neel POWERS and William POWERS the plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred acres more or less also one half of that tract of swamp land that I own which lyeth in the cowland branch boath tracts to be equally divided between my said Grandsons Neel and William to them and their heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Caleb POWERS the plantation and land whereon he now lives containing fifty acres be the same more or less also one half of the tract of swamp land that I own which lyeth in the cowland branch to him and his heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Elizabeth POWERS one dollar.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandson David SPENCE the plantation and land whereon my Daughter Mary BALLANCE now lives containing fifty acres be the same more or less also one heiffer to him and his heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Isabel HAYMAN one feather bed, bedstead and one third part of the furniture that belongs to my three beds to her and her heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary BALLANCE one feather bed, bedstead and one third part of the furniture that belongs to my three beds to her and her heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah BOWREN one feather bed, bedstead, and one third part of the furniture that belongs to my three beds to her and her heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Abby SPENCE one cow and calf one iron pot and the feather bed and furniture that l let her have when she was married which is now in her possession to her and her heirs for ever.

Item I give and bequeath unto Peter ETHERIDGE one ewe and lamb to him and his heirs for ever.

Item And farther my will and desire is that after my just debts and funeral charges are paid that the remainder on my estate of what kindsoever it may be should be divided in the following manner, Viz-
one sixth part to my Son Caleb POWERS
one sixth part to my Daughter Isabel HAYMAN
one sixth part to my Daughter Mary BALLANCE
one sixth part to my Daughter Sarah BOWREN
one sixth part to my Daughter Abby SPENCE
one sixth part to be equally divided between the seven children of my Son George POWERS deceased whose names are as followeth Franky, Neel, William, Mary, Sally, George and Lovey POWERS.

and I do hereby nominate and appoint my friends Edward DOUGHTY and David MINTZ executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all wills heretofore by me made ratifying and confirming this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I do sign seal publish and declare this to be my Last Will this thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four.
