In the name of God Amen,
I Gilbert PORTWOOD of Currituck County in the province of North Carolina being now in my perfect senses mind and memory do make this instrument of writing to contain my Last Will and Testament as followeth,

Imprimise and first of all I give and commit my soul into the hands of God who gave it me doubting but at the general resurection to receive the same again by the Mighty power of God, and my body to the ground to be buried in a disent manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter namd as to my worldly goods which God hath blessed me with all in this world I do dispose of them in manner and form followint that is to say,

Imprimise: I give and bequeath to my Oldest Son Martin PORTWOOD shilling sterling to be paid to him out of my estate directly after my decease.

Item: I give and devise to my well beloved Wife Mary PORTWOOD my house I now live in together with all my land to me in any wise belonging I give it to her and her heirs and assign forever all but what is before given by deed I likewise give to my said Wife all my Houshold goods and furniture together with all my stock of cattle, horses and hogs and sheep and everything or things bothe within and without to me and to me belonging or in any wise appertaining to her and her heirs and assign forever. And I do hereby revoke all other former wills and gifts by me heretofore made by me rectifying and confirming this instrument of writing and no other whatsoever to be my Last Will and Testament.

And I do hereby ordain constitute and appoint my said well beloved Wife Mary PORTWOOD to be my executrix of this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of February in the year of our Lord 1773.
